Safety & Legal Information (Global Use)

Global Notice

E-TWOW e-scooters are legal to purchase and own worldwide. However, regulations governing where and how they may be used vary by country, state and city.
Before riding, users must check their local traffic laws to ensure compliance with applicable rules on public-road use, shared paths and speed limits.

Each E-TWOW product is designed in accordance with international safety standards and equipped with certified electrical and battery systems.
Always ride responsibly, wear an approved helmet, and follow local safety requirements.

Regional Highlights

Australia
E-scooter use is regulated by individual states and territories. Most allow use on shared paths or local roads with a maximum speed of 25 km/h and mandatory helmet use. In New South Wales and South Australia, private e-scooters remain restricted to private property or approved trial areas.

European Union
Most EU member countries allow e-scooters that comply with the EN 15194 or equivalent standards. Speed limits typically range between 20 km/h and 25 km/h, and riders must follow national road-use laws and insurance requirements.

United States
E-scooter purchase and ownership are legal nationwide. Riding regulations, including top speed (usually 15–20 mph), helmet use, and age limits, are determined by individual states and cities. Compliance with the UL 2272 safety certification is required for sale and recommended for use.

United Kingdom
As of 2025, privately owned e-scooters are not permitted for use on public roads or footpaths. Only government-approved rental schemes are authorized for public-area use. Private e-scooters may be used on private land with the owner’s consent.

Battery Shipping & Handling

E-TWOW e-scooters use certified lithium-ion battery systems that comply with international safety standards (UL 2272 – US, EN 15194 – EU, RCM – Australia).
To ensure safety and compliance with air-transport restrictions, high-capacity lithium batteries are shipped only by ground or sea transport.
Users must charge and store the battery as instructed in the user manual, avoid exposure to water or heat, and never leave the scooter charging unattended.
